Unique properties of goat’s down.
In the fluff contains a large amount of lanolin. Lanolin has anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties, it helps to heal wounds and fuse fractures.
Wool and fluff perfectly absorb moisture (this property is called hygroscopicity): sheep wool up to 33% moisture, and goat down and even more, up to 35%, while perfectly evaporating the moisture, while remaining dry. For example, synthetic fabrics do not absorb moisture at all, and cotton only 8%. This dry heat perfectly copes with lymphadenitis, soothes rheumatic pains in the joints. Doctors often recommend that if you have a pneumonia or a cold, you warm up the baby wrapping it in the downy shawl (and of course woolen socks on the legs), it’s better than the mustard plasters.
